Welcome to Cartole Cottages, the perfect place to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the beautiful Cornish countryside. Deep in the heart of south east Cornwall, near the bustling port of Looe, picture postcard fishing village of Polperro and the beautiful Fowey estuary, you will find six charming holiday cottages nestled in wide open grounds.
Part of the Cornish countryside for more than 300 years, Cartole Cottages are situated along the south Cornish coast, an area that has a great heritage of tales and legends of fishing and smuggling. Our collection of six self catering holiday cottages, converted from the original barns and stables, await you. Come and create your own stories and memories.

Relax in one of our family-friendly and dog-friendly cottages. We pride ourselves on welcoming the whole family so that you can all enjoy your holiday together. If you are planning a celebration please talk to us to see how we can help with group bookings and activities.
Children will love having the space to run around and let off steam and parents can relax, happy in the knowledge that the little ones are playing in a safe environment. We also have play equipment and garden games to ensure that there is something for everyone, whatever their age.
Dog friendly Cornish Cottages
We know that if you’re a dog owner that you’ll want to bring along your four-legged friend, so we are happy to accept well-behaved dogs in the majority of our cottages.

Actively relax
If you enjoy a little activity on holiday you can look forward to walking, cycling, fishing and sailing whilst staying with us. Set in spacious grounds we have plenty of room if you would like to bring your bicycles, car trailer or even your own boat.
Visit the Lanhydrock cycle hub or the extensive cycle trails of Cardinham woods on the edge of Bodmin. Keen riders of the equine kind can find entertainment at Polmartin riding school and stables, just a short distance away.
Put your feet up
If you prefer a more laid-back holiday, take time to sit and enjoy the beautiful quiet rural surroundings. Although no longer a working farm we are bordered by beautiful Cornish farmland so sheep and cattle can often be found grazing just over the garden fence.
Bring along your sketch pad or watercolours and be inspired by nature. Or take in our field walk, ideal for exercising your dog or a romantic evening stroll.

Cartole holiday cottages are centrally located for easy exploration of Cornwall and Devon. Take a day trip to The Eden Project, The Lost Garden of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and many other National Trust properties. Or be inspired by the locations which influenced Daphne Du Maurier’s and Rosamunde Pilcher’s famous novels and also where Poldark and Doc Martin were filmed.
